• Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist used in adults with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes, in addition to diet and physical activity
Key Features
• Just one tablet a day, taken by mouth
• Highest recommended dose (maximum 14 mg daily) after at least one month on 7 mg
• Taken on an empty stomach with a sip of water, then wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking any other oral medicine
• Can be used alone when metformin is unsuitable, or with other diabetes medicines
• No dose adjustment needed for age or kidney or liver function
